What is the difference between using a collage and remixing it? When you use a collage, it’s “flattened” into one item (a.k.a. layer) in your new collage. You’ll want to use a collage, instead of remixing it, when you want the collage to stay as a whole. When you remix a collage, you’ll find that all the items are still separate… you can select them and move them independently from one another. Basically, you have all the control that the creator had while working in the collage editor.

When you delete an item from a collage while remixing, you won’t be charged for it when you publish the new collage. That means that you can extract an item you want to use from a Muzy collage easily, as long as it’s a separate selectable item.
Kits!
One of the great things that you can do with remix is build kits, like the font kit. When you’re building a kit, it’s best if each thing someone might want to use is a separate element. If you’ve built something with multiple layers and want it to be one object in a kit, publish it separately first, and then add that “flattened” item to your kit.
Kits can be all types of sets of objects to manipulate and use together. Here’s a fun example:
You can position the bear’s arms and legs however you like, and dress him with the T-shirt.
Here’s a fun kit to make your own wacky plumbing system…
Anything that has parts and pieces that can be put together in different ways makes a good kit! So, put one together. Just remember that each object should be a separate single item in the collage, so that they’re easy to move around and manipulate. You can even make a kit out of other people’s existing items that you think could make interesting collages together:
So have fun making a kit or playing with one!
